A pellet unit runs off a hopper you fill rather than a fire you keep feeding. It has a thermostat and a timer, so the room is warm when you come in, not an hour after you light it.
The pellets come in bags, they stack in a shed, and there is no chopping, seasoning or stacking a year ahead.

Heats the whole house. It takes the place of an oil or gas boiler and runs your radiators and hot water off pellets instead.

What a pellet install needs
A pellet unit is not a straight swap for an open fire. It needs a flue, a power socket, and somewhere dry to keep the bags. Francis works all three out on the survey visit rather than on the day of the fit.
- The flue, done by him. Chimney lining and external air kits are his own work, not a second trade you have to chase.
- Power. A pellet unit needs a socket. It is not a dry fire.
- Storage. Bags need to stay dry. A shed or a garage corner is usually enough.
- Commissioning and the cert. Set up, run, shown to you working, and a competent cert for the installation.
