Straight about it
Why these are guides and not quotes
The unit is only half the job. What sits behind the wall decides the rest, and no honest fitter can price that off a web page.
- Whether there is a fireplace there already. The €1,850 is for a stove going into an existing fireplace. Starting from nothing means an opening and a flue, and that is more.
- The flue. A liner down a sound chimney and a brand new flue through a wall are not the same money.
- The opening. Some hearths need building work before a stove will sit in them.
- The base and the power. For a sauna, the slab and the electrics can be most of the job.
- The model. Size and finish move the unit price on their own.
So ring him. He will call out, look at it, and give you one price for the whole thing rather than a unit price with surprises after it.
